Safety & Environment Policy

North West Shelf Shipping is responsible to the IGTC for ensuring that LNG is transported safely and in a manner which integrates personnel safety and environmental protection with efficient operations.

A primary objective of North West Shelf Shipping is to always place the safety of people, protection of the environment and prevention of loss or damage to property before other considerations in providing services for, and in planning shipping activities on behalf of, IGTC.

Policy

  • Provide a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Provide training in, and actively promote, health, safety and environmental consciousness within the Company.
  • All North West Shelf Shipping operations are to be performed on the basis that safety, environment and property protection are a priority. Prior to commencement, all operations are to be assessed against these safety, environment and property protection criteria by those accountable for that operation.
  • Comply with all relevant legislation and conventions.
  • Employ quality management and continuous improvement principles in dealing with Safety, Environmental and Loss Prevention matters.
  • It is the responsibility of the relevant manager to ensure that external parties contracted by North West Shelf Shipping comply with this policy.
  • All accidents and incidents are to be investigated as soon as possible after the occurrence.

Fleet vessels and their Allocated Operator are to be assessed for compliance with this policy on an annual basis.
